Mahindra Satyam, the brand identity of Satyam Computer Services Limited, says that they have won a multi-million dollar technology services deal from a large health insurer in the United States. Mahindra Satyam said it had developed an integrated migration solutions for healthcare payer organizations that would meet the new federal and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act or HIPAA rules, said a press release.

Hewlett-Packard (HP), the world's largest computer company has bagged a USD 1.4 billion technology infrastructure outsourcing contract from Germany's E.ON, the world's largest power and gas company by sales. The contract was signed between HP's German unit and E.ON's IT GmbH, the IT and telecommunications subsidiary of E.ON.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has won an Rs 85 crore deal to implement a financial inclusion solution for Indian Bank. The project, based on smart card and cloud computing technologies, will enable the bank to offer rural banking services in 5,500 villages , the software exporter said. The deal is for three years and TCS will provide the technology infrastructure, handheld devices and business correspondents to help the bank extend its coverage to people living in rural areas. The handheld devices will support biometric authentication to verify the identity of the person.

Global IT services provider L&T Infotech Ltd. is set to broaden its presence in the Canadian outsourcing market following what the India-based companys CEO called a good acquisition of Citigroup Canadas IT outsourcing arm. L&T Infotechs IT service portfolio aims for end-to-end coverage, said Banerjee, which includes general software development, maintenance, remote infrastructure, business intelligence, data warehousing, independent testing services.The companys focus will remain the large enterprise market given these customers understand how outsourcing fits in their often-global operations, said Banerjee. They are amenable because they themselves have global operations, theyve seen the benefits of scale, theyve seen the benefits of engaging in global vendors, said Banerjee.

Indian infotech giant Wipro Saturday said it won a five-year outsourcing contract from Vasan Eye Care, a unit of Tamil Nadu-based Vasan Healthcare group.The scope of service includes entire IT infrastructure management, encompassing data centre management and end-user support services, Wipro vice-president for managed IT services Kiran Desai said in a statement here. Headquartered at Tiruchirapally in Tamil Nadu, Vasan Eye Care delivers ophthalmic care to over five million patients across the southern states.

Software giant Wipro said it has bagged a contract for providing support services to telecom firm Vodafone Essar's fixed line enterprise business customers for an undisclosed amount. Under the contract, Wipro will provide a wide range of services, including network design and implementation and integration with existing IT applications, for a period of three years.

Mahindra Satyam, an Indian IT services provider has won a four-year outsourcing contract worth USD 48 million from Denmark-based technology firm KMD.The new contract is an extension of a previous deal from KMD that was due to expire this year, the company said.The deal will continue the outsourced development of IT applications, in particular SAP (System Applications and Products). SAP applications lead the global market in providing collaborative, inter-enterprise software solutions to a wide range of businesses.
