KPO demand rises

Large format Indian retailers and domestic telecom service providers are increasing their spend on market research and analytical work. Animation BPO growing in strength

Animation and gaming are seen as the next wave in Indias successful outsourcing story. However, there is a major change, this is a sector which has moved up from outsourcing to co production, a move up the value chain from low end, less creative work to higher creativity and advanced technologies, says Krayon Pictures director Namrata Sharma. Xchanging to set up BPO near Bangalore

UK-based Xchanging, a Rs 460-crore business process outsourcing BPO unit, is set to open a 1,000-seat high-performance processing centre in the Tier-3 town of Shimoga near Bangalore. The upcoming centre will be spread over 37 acres and is expected to be operational by the first quarter of next year, said David Andrews, CEO of Xchanging. A centre, similar to Shimoga, will be operational sometime in 2010 in Cleveland, Ohio US. The twin centres will handle complex financial processing modules for global companies, he added.
