Technology conglomerate IPVG announced recently that it has forged a deal with a Canadian company that will allow the two firms to offer call center services for companies based inside and outside of Canada. In a statement released last week, IPVG said it has signed a partnership agreement with Gemma Communications LP GemmaCom, a call center company based in Ontario, Canada.Under the terms of the accord, IPVG and GemmaCom will provide Englishspeaking outsourcing services to GemmaCom customers that have offshore outsourcing requirements.

Back office firm WNS Holdings Ltd has acquired insurer Avivas BPO in India and Sri Lanka for USD 230 million.The acquisition of Aviva Global Services will give WNS USD 1 billion worth of outsourced work committed to Aviva over an eightyear period, the paper said. WNS will fund the buyout through a USD 200 million line of credit from ICICI Bank, with buyout firm Warburg Pincus, which owns a majority stake in WNS, contributing around USD 30 million, the paper said.

Non voice business process outsourcing company Tricom India on Thursday said it has acquired USbased Pacific Data Centres Inc for USD2.25 million about Rs 9.71 crore. Tricom has acquired PDC through its US subsidiary Tricom Document Management Inc, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

BPO firm Intelenet Global Services is close to acquiring the backend processing division of a financial institution in the US.The source said that the top management is in the final stages of discussion.It is learnt that the company has readied about USD200 million for the acquisition of a financial firm. However, the source said quoting company officials that money won't be an obstacle as the company does not want to let the opportunity go away. The company has raised capital through a mix of equity and debt.

Indian Outsourcing giant Quatrro BPO, along with hedge fund DE Shaw group, has acquired UK based Babel Media, a provider of specialist outsourced services to gaming and interactive entertainment industry. Under the deal, Quatrro has acquired a majority stake while DE Shaw and US based hedge fund has picked up a minority stake in Babel.
