Outsourcing from Etisalat DB Telecom

Etisalat DB Telecom, the Indian unit of UAEs Etisalat, has entered into an agreement with Tech Mahindra Ltd for outsourcing information technology applications valued at  USD400 million, in over 10 years, the telecom firm said.The outsourcing deal would include implementation of end-to-end IT applications and infrastructure, system integration and managed services, including components in Business Support System BSS and Operating Support System OSS domain, says Etisalat DB Telecom.

Etisalat DB holds licence in 13 circles while Allianz Infratec holds licences and spectrum for two circles - Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.

Etisalat DB Telecom, has unified services access licence to operate telecom services in 15 circles, including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar in the country.

Etisalat DB Telecom India PVT Ltd is the new name of Swan Telecom after a joint venture of UAE-based Etisalat and DB Group acquired it from its Indian owner Vinod Goenka in June this year.

The company has licences to provide a full spectrum of telecom services covering a population of over 900 million across the country, including national and international long distance telephony solutions, full range of prepaid and postpaid products, national and international roaming and value-added services like voice mail, audiotex services, video conferencing, videotex, e-mail and closed user group. Under the licence, the company can also provide internet telephony, internet services and broadband services.

Etisalat is one of the largest telecommunication providers in the world and the largest operator in the Middle East with operations in 17 countries across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, servicing over 80 million customers out of a total population of 1.8 billion people.
