Its flooding assignments for Indian legal process outsourcing LPO companies in spite of having a worst economic condition, while law graduates in the country are not at all interested in choosing LPO as a profession. It is the least preferred profession among law students, finds a new survey. Due to its costeffectiveness, Indian LPOs are the most preferred destination for multinational companies.
Though this sector is attracting less number of people, it is a fact that a career with an LPO firm is more rewarding, at least financially, than a law firm. Among the students and faculties in the leading law schools surveyed, 45 percent of the respondents agree LPOs offer better payment than low firms.
While there has been significant media hype about legal services outsourcing that a large number of students pursuing law were either unaware of it, or they did not consider it as a preferred career choice, says the report based on the survey conducted by Punebased Valuenotes.
Experts opine that Indian LPO firms are seeing a silver lining in the current time and expect to get more litigation jobsrelated projects due to the turmoil in the U.S. banking and financial markets.
LPO firms were expecting a large quantum of work for services such as corporate complaints and contract drafting. With respect to the subprime crisis itself, we are seeing a surge in electronic litigation work, said Sanjay Kamlani, Co CEO, Pangea3, a Mumbaibased LPO firm.
