In line with its prior green initiatives, Patni Computer Systems, a provider of Global IT and BPO services today opened its first Green IT-BPO knowledge centre- Patni Knowledge Centre, in Noida.Established on Green Architecture, the centre is a product of investments valued Rs. 175 crores, and stretches over 5 acres of land and offers seating capacity for over 3500 people.
The centre, designed and built according to the guidelines of LEED Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design India Green Building Rating System for New Construction, boasts of climate responsive architecture. Other features of the establishment include, 50 percent green area, 100 percent recycling of sewage, with an interior materials consisting of low volatile organic compound VOC emissions and it makes maximum use of eco friendly re cyclable material.
While inaugurating the Knowledge Centre, Mr. Narendra K. Patni, Chairman and CEO, Patni said, We recognize our responsibility to protect the environment. The launch of our first Green centre is a significant step in demonstrating the companys commitment to environment conservation.
Sanjiv Kapur, senior vice president and head of Patni BPO, said, Over the last four years, Patnis northern India operations have grown exponentially. We see tremendous potential and as we expand and diversify, the new center will support our aggressive growth. Above all, the new knowledge center will give our employees a healthier and environment friendly workplace, especially as BPO and KPO operations run on a round the clock basis.
The centre is currently undergoing the certification process and is jointly inspected by the Indian Green Building Council IGBC and US Green Building Council USGBC.
