Before we can begin discussing the benefits of outsourcing, let us understand what outsourcing is all about.  Outsourcing is the assignment of a business process to a third party or service provider. This third party will then be responsible for the day-to-day running and maintenance of the business process. Take for instance Microsoft, outsources the complete process of manufacturing their products.

Outsourcing also involves transferring management control and decision making power to the service provider. This means that there is a lot more communication, and trust between the outsourcer and its client, making it different from the usual buyer-seller relationship.

Similarly in small businesses there's only a limited access to resources and ideas. Outsourcing allows the business to garner new ideas and innovations. It could also result possible cash influx due to the transfer of assets to the new provider.

For small and medium businesses, outsourcing enables them to work with the minimum resources. For example, a small firm can outsource its telemarketing and advertising to a third party, and even the housekeeping also thus eliminating the need to have a dedicated team to look at such issues. Not only that, some outsourcing provider have well set infrastructure that there is no need for small business to develop its own internal infrastructure.

Outsourcing also allows smaller businesses to focus on core issues, and ease them of the unimportant ones. This allows them to target on providing better quality products and service. The cut in cost allows small business for greater productivity. This increases the overall economy in total. Without having to employ a large team, small business unit can still produce quality products.
